In this world there are many children, who are deprived of their basic right to hear Some under privileged children with hearing disability, are provided hearing aids, by social agencies. But, there is an obstacle regarding the batteries for these hearing aids. Many are unable to afford the recurring monthly expenses on these batteries. As a result, these Listening Devices are either unused or partially used. This negates the sole purpose with which these aids are provided. Sensitive to this issue, Maitra Pariwar has commenced a Battery Bank project aptly named as “Shravan Maitra” or “Hearing Companion”. Under this scheme, students of 7 Schools from Mumbai and Pune are benefited.
Maitra has helped more than 400 students with the batteries requirement of full year.
All these students will continue to get this help in years to come.
Maitra has also helped 10 students with the Hearing aid machines.
This year, apart from these students, Maitra has planned to help students from Miraj, Sangali, Nashik, Yewala Our volunteers are already in touch with the school authorities.
