Vidyarthi Mitra- Diwali Celebration at Bhatane, Vasai– October 19, 2024

माना के अंधेरा घना है, पर दीप जलाना कहाँ मना हैं,

तो चलो जलाये दीप वहाँ, जहाँ अब भी अंधेरा है !!

On 19th October’24  Maitra team visited Sai Aadhaar Ashram of Bhatane village in Vasai. On the occasion of Diwali, Maitra team distributed Diwali snacks and new under garments to the orphans there. Also had conversation with them and with Vishal Dada, the head of the ashram. On Dada’s request, as a solution to the electricity problem there, Maitra gifted the ashram with the required electricity inverter.

Every boy and girl from Ashram spoke very politely. Everyone started their conversation by saying “Jai Hari” and every member of Maitra got emotional listening to it.

Vishal Dada a 40-year-old is doing an amazing job for the orphans. Some of us have had the opportunity to see and experience what  selflessness is. It was a thorn in his side to hear the hard and struggling journey he had to go through to get here. This work of Vishal is truly vast. There is no need, no arrogance, no pretense. He does not take cash money, only accepts in-kind assistance. His work has also been noticed by the government. He has received many awards. Vishal himself is highly educated and has received a gold medal in psychology. Hearing from Vishal his struggle journey from remand home to Sai Aadhaar, seeing the smiling faces of the children there despite the adverse conditions  and their happy struggle for survival touched us deeply.

This unforgettable experience was very different from many of Maitra’s previous experiences and taught a lot.
