Maitra has participated in Mumbai Municipal Corporation’s Tuberculosis Patient Adoption Scheme ‘Nikshay’. Maitra Pariwar Trust, which promises ‘I will be with you always’ to various sections of the society, has adopted five tuberculosis patients from ‘K‘ Ward Andheri under the Arogya maitra project from the ‘Nikshay’ scheme. Maitra is working on various social projects like Maitrankur (Guardianship of Underprivileged Students), Diwali on Tribal Pada, Vidyarthi Maitra, Aarogya Maitra, Shravan Maitra, Skill Maitra, Vruddha Maitra (Old Age Home Support) and Maitra-Scholarship. Under the Arogya Maitra project, protein rich food will be provided to the tuberculosis patients for the next six months. Maitra Pariwar has come forward to give patients who are struggling with diseases like tuberculosis a chance to be a healthy person. Maitra Pariwar has decided to join the Nikshay Yojana as it is our responsibility to maintain a healthy society.

On June 29, 2024, the project was started by providing protein rich Nutritional food Kit to five patients. These patients at the Tata Compound Primary Health Center will be supplied with this kit every month for the next six months. Maitra member Shalaka Vaidya started this initiative with the support of Mr. Kailas Chaure, head of this scheme of the centre. The project will be implemented with the coordination and full participation of Shalaka Vaidya, who is working as a Head Nurse at Cooper Hospital.  Members of Maitra Sunil Sardesai, Devendra Tari and Sirat Satpute attended today’s event. Sunil Sardesai informed the audience about Maitra Pariwar and assured the patients that Maitra will always be with you during this illness. Shalaka Vaidya explained the importance of consistency in medication. Kailas Chaure thanked Shalaka Vaidya who conveyed this plan to the Maitra Pariwar and participated in its implementation.
